[edit] $5 coin
I don't think there were any actual plans for a $5 coin; they just were testing to see whether people would use it. Does anybody have any references for that? --RealGrouchy 17:31, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
That isn't the old five dollar bill. I'll try and find one. DaveWF 05:06, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- If they had produced such a coin, and if Pierre Trudeau had been featured on one side, I would have nicknamed it "The Finger", for Trudeau's infamous salute to Kamloopians in the early 1980s. GBC 03:50, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deleted images
For some reason all individual images of the obverses and reverses of the 2001 series Canadian bills have been deleted (except for the $5 bill). Does anyone know why this has happened, or how to get them back? --thirty-seven 21:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- I learned in 1972 or later, long after the redesign, that Yukon's Otter Falls had been featured on the reverse of this bill. I have never been able to obtain one since I learned of this. GBC 03:50, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Spock and Wilfred Laurier
Any info on the 'Spock 5' or 'Five Dollar Spock'. Can you do it with the new bills? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.161.24.48 (talk) 05:31, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] fishboat/tug on old $5?
I was hoping to find here historical images of older fives....I'm trying to find out the name of the fishboat(s) or tug(s), whichever it was, that was/were used on the obverse of the fives until this hockey boosterism/propaganda one came out. More to the point it wasn't the Haro Straits was it (sunk in '73)? All I really remember is that it was a famous boat; on the old-old five, not sure about the newer one with the boat, whether it was the same boat that is.Skookum1 (talk) 16:56, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please reply on Talk:Haro Strait, I don't have this page on my watchlist.Skookum1 (talk) 16:57, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
