Talk:Canadian Cancer Society

[edit] Improving quality
Here are some things I plan to improve, and hope others will to (maybe before I get a chance):
- This article is still far to much of a promotioinal ad for this group. The Society may be a wonderful group, that deserves support, but as Wikipedia can't endorse such a position in the article.
- There's been reported controvsy, about the use of money. Some have criticized this group for spending money on political lobbying, when the money was raised for research/education. Both sides need to be shown.
- Independent sources, such as government licensing, news reports, should be cited to report and verify how much effort is put in the different areas.
- Critics should be cited, but in an impartial NPOV manner. For instance, even though I personally dislike the tobacco lobby, I'm sure they would contest what's "educational", and what's "political"; and this article should be fair.
- Generally, this article should talk about the organization actually does, and not just what what it's goals are. Most organizations have lofty goals, what counts is what they've verifiably done. Now I think they have in fact, verifiable done what they claim, but that verification is not in the article. A single link to a non-government web site (their own), does not consitute WP:Verifiability.
