The Group C finalist of the contest to adopt the national flag of Canada. Compromise idea was created by Alan Beddoe, who wanted to appease the Royalists and the French population. This was rejected, along with the Pearson Pennant, in favor of a red flag, with a white sqaure, and a red maple leaf charged in the center.
