Cantiano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pesaro e Urbino in the Italian region Marche, located about 70 km (43 mi) west of Ancona and about 50 km (31 mi) southwest of Pesaro. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,537 and an area of 83.2 km² (32 sq. mi).[1]
The municipality of Cantiano contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Palcano, Vilano, Moria, Pontedazzo, S. Crescentino, Chiaserna, and Fossato e Pontericciòli.
Cantiano borders the following municipalities: Cagli, Frontone, Gubbio, Scheggia e Pascelupo.
