Cantho University or Can Tho University is a university in Can Tho, Vietnam. This is a multidisciplinary university, a leading university in the Mekong River Delta Region of Vietnam. The university was established in. In 2003, the Faculty of Medicine was split to become Cantho University of Medicine. Cantho University is a leading agricultural research center in Vietnam. Cantho University has 9 faculties and 2 research institutes.

On 31 March 1966, the University of Cantho (Viện Đại học Cần Thơ) was established by the government of the Republic of Vietnam. The original university included 4 faculties: Sciences, Law and Social Sciences, Letters and Pedagogy. After the Fall of Saigon, the university developed into a comprehensive university for the Mekong River Delta Region with several faculties added. In 2003, the Faculty of Medicicne was split to found the Can Tho University of Mecdicine.
