Cantharidus is a genus of sea snail, a marine gastropod molluscs of the family Trochidae, the top shells.

This genus is distributed in the Pacific, with many species endemic to New Zealand.

These top shells are large, brightly coloured or patterned, with a tall narrowly conical spire, and a simple, highly iridescent aperture.
