Cannon Street Road railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cannon Street Road railway station was one of the stations on the London and Blackwall Railway, which first opened in 1842. It was open for just six years, before closing in 1848. The reasons for its closure are unclear, but it may well have been a result of poor usage, combined with its close proximity to other stations.

In 1877 a new station was opened slightly to the west at Leman Street railway station, likely picking up some of the former traffic.
