Cannibal Corpse's eleventh studio album is scheduled to be released in early 2009,[1] through Metal Blade Records. Bassist Alex Webster mentioned in an interview that Cannibal Corpse will begin writing a new album sometime in November 2007,[2] and as he later reported, it would be recorded sometime during December 2007 and January 2008.[1] It will be the follow-up to the band's 2006 album, Kill.

The producer of this album has not yet been specified although, Iranian-American producer Alec Cartio told Tapesh T.V. in 2008 that he had been approached by guitarist, Pat O'Brien about the possibility of being producer of the upcoming album. However, it seems unlikely Cartio will be working with Cannibal Corpse on this album as he is currently working with Zyklon on their upcoming album.

"Realistically, we probably won't be in the studio until maybe late 2007 or even early 2008 and a new CD no earlier than mid- 2008."- Paul Mazurkiewicz [3]

"I've already started writing riffs to get ahead of the game. Our tour cycle for this album has been longer than usual. Normally we would already be writing a new album around now. But we’re still going to be touring for this record until October. We're doing another US tour in September and October. We're doing some shows in Brazil after that tour. We have a lot going on until October. November is probably when we'll get serious about the writing. We'll bring songs in starting in December or January to start working on them together. We would like to be recording no later than the summer of 2008 so we can get the album out by the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009."- Alex Webster[1]

May 2008, Cannibal Corpse announced through their Myspace that the recording of the album had finally commenced.[1]
