Canis familiarus domesticus

Carlous Linnaeus perpetuated his name by developing binomial nomenclature. He studied and analyzed numerous living creatures and classified those into a way one can describe a plant or an animal into specific details by using very few plain and simple words. Scientists as well as lay people worldwide use this description known as Scientific name, to specify what kind of animal or plant they are talking about.

Linneus concluded, that dogs fit into two different categories, and named feral dogs Canis familiaris, underlining that they differ from domesticated dogs, Canis familiarus domesticus.

The American Society of Mammalogists changed taxonomic classification as well as Scientific names in several species, including the dog at 1993. As a result, common use of this term seems unclear, [1]
