Candico started their operations in 1997, and now they are the Largest confectionary companies in India.Candico is a confectionery multinational headquartered in India with operations in 19 countries.
Their candies and other confectionery are popular enough to make an Annual Turnover of US$ 2 billion. Candico's success in a market where every major confectionery player from the world competes is indicative of its core strengths.

With manufacturing facilities in India, Tanzania & South Africa.Candico(ISO 9001-2000,HACCP Certified & FDA Approved) owns India's Largest Integrated Confectionery manufacturing facility.The largest of its kind in the country, the plant is spread over a sprawling 15-acre campus, complete with lush lawns and a stream that flows right through it. It has a constructed area of over 350,000 square feet, of which close to 300,000 is fully particle, humidity and temperature controlled.
The plant has a production capacity of 45,000 tonnes, which makes it one of the largest manufacturing facilities of its kind in India.

The equipment has been sourced from multiple vendors in Europe including Togum, France; AMP Rose, UK and BWI Manesty, UK. The use of these highly efficient machines allows the highest possible standards of quality even when producing large quantities. The capital investment in the facility and machinery and relentless quality consciousness ensures that Candico meets the most stringent food manufacturing standards prevalent anywhere in the world.

Candico is actively engaged in Contract manufacturing / Private labeling for numerous International and Indian Companies. With its automated, state of the art, computer controlled machinery and large capacity it has the capability to manufacture almost every single type of Candy, Toffee, Gum, Soft Chew and Compressed Powdered Tablet. Candico also provides complete end to end solutions for its clients, from gum base and flavors to primary and secondary packing materials.
It is the largest Contract Manufacturer in India and most of their clients are located in Europe.Candico’s current and prior clients include :

- Nestle
- Nutrine
- HLL
- Poundland
Candico’s clients both current and prior are a testament to the levels of professionalism undertaken by the corporation in carrying out contract manufacturing. Some of their past clients have been those that they were directly competing with in the market while they were advising them on how to reduce costs of competing products that they were manufacturing for them at the time. A great example of that was when they were marketing Candico’s Minto while also manufacturing Nestle’s Polo a substitutable product.

With 24 depots, 1500 authorised dealers and a 250 people strong sales force, Candico’s distribution network in India has a direct or indirect reach in most towns and cities with a population of over 25,000. It is estimated that Candico’s brands reach out to over 60 percent of India’s 1000 million people. An Advanced Management Information System ensures that the company’s management has, by 11 a.m. the next day, details of all Candico products sold to every shop by every salesman in India.

Candico is the only Indian confectionery company with production facilities overseas.Candico’s international operations gathered speed in October 2003 with its acquisition of an equity skate in SML, Tanzania. In May 2004 it entered into a distribution agreement to set up operations in South Africa. Candico has set up distribution arrangements in several countries across the world including South Africa, New Zealand, Madagascar and Qatar. Candico is actively scouting for opportunities to set up similar distribution agreements in West and North Africa so as to cover the entire African continent.

Sancorp Eurobase is a JV Between the Sancorp group and the Eurobase Company, Belgium.
Eurobase is " the world's leading independent Gum Base producer." Eurobase has a long history and its Gum Base know-how has been accumulated over the years. Its Gum Bases are available to gum producers all over the world.
Sancorp Eurobase The Sancorp Eurobase joint venture was formed to bring Eurobase's technical skills into India and provide the Eurobase company with an alternate low cost manufacturing base. Despite representations in most major countries, Sancorp Eurobase remains the only Gum Base factory operating on foreign shores without direct managerial control of Eurobase. Sancorp Eurobase can boast of a sound technical base having technical advice and expertise from Eurobase International N.V, Belgium. The plant is completely equipped for efficient production. A full fledged pilot plant is available for production trail and finalisaziation of the base.
It is a testament to the relationship shared by both the partners, and the operating style and performance achievements of Sancorp Eurobase that Eurobase has never found it necessary to expand its managerial control.
At present Sancorp Eurobase is India's largest Gum Base manufacturer and provides Gum Base to numerous Indian, SAARC and African companies.
Sancorp is associated with Curt Georgi Company, Germany. Curt Georgi: is one of the leading producers of flavors and fragrances in the world. Curt Georgi started the production of essential oils and colours in 1875 and members of his family continue to run the company today. Sancorp Curt Georgi: The Sancorp Curt Georgi association was formed to bring the formidable technical skills of Curt Georgi into India so that confectionery companies in India (Candico and others) could have access to world class flavors and fragrances. Apart from facilitating the availability of these products in India, Sancorp Curt Georgi has also ensured that international technology is matched with Indian manufacturing costs to provide world-class products at Indian prices.
At present, Sancorp Curt Georgi provides flavors to numerous Indian companies and also processes export orders for the SAARC and African markets.

CANDICO is the first Indian confectionery company to enter organized Retail. This specialty confectionery retail initiative comes at a time when the retail sector in India is witnessing rapid expansion.
According to an IMAGES-KSA Technopak study, organized organized retailing in India is projected to grow at the rate of 25%-30% p.a. and is estimated to reach Rs. 1000 billion by 2010 fuelled by the emergence of upwardly mobile Indian consumers seeking an international shopping experience.
ORG MARG pegs the organized sector of the confectionery market at Rs. 1400 crore, growing at 9% per annum.
Retail Plans The company plans to open 20 specialty confectionery stores by end 2005, and 200 stores by 2010. These stores shall have a national foot print & cover all major urban centers in India. The retail chain initiative by CANDICO involves a total investment of Rs. 30 crore for 200 retail stores across India by 2010. CANDICO also plans to open specialty confectionery stores in South Africa.
All specialty stores will stock a wide variety of chocolates; candies, jellies and sugar free candies, with as many as 200 new confectionery items available at each store. The chain shall operation a Pick-N-Mix concept, where consumers can select from a wide assortment of candies, jellies and chocolates to suit their tastes.
