Candice Wilson (b. 1984) is an American born singer, songwriter and actress. Candice was born in New York City and was raised in the Bronx until she was 8 years old. Her parents then moved her to the suburbs of Morris County, New Jersey where her love for the performing arts would flourish. To ease this transition, Candice began singing, writing, and dancing more, though it has been reported that she began songwriting at 7 years old. She began learning piano in 5th grade. Writing poetry also became another outlet for her expression. During high school, the need to expand her expressive skills outside of singing grew and she became more involved in dance and theater. This exposure landed her several bit parts and extra roles in films such as Spike Lee's film "Bamboozled" as well as background vocal for local acts.
Candice attended Temple University as a communications major and graduated with a BA. With stronger focus and network, she established opportunities such as radio drops, traveling to do background vocals, and performing at various venues around NYC. Through training her ability to write, arrange, produce, as well as play instruments have allowed her to test the boundaries and go against the grain. Combining old school vibes and content filled songs with contagious hooks which demonstrates her influences such as Minnie Ripperton, Whitney Houston, Etta James, Mariah Carey, and Donny Hathaway to name a few. She has done background vocals for several signed acts, and continues to write, arrange, and co-produce tracks for herself and other artists. Her personality and charisma landed leads in various plays and musicals such as the off-Broadway play, Gospel of the Harlem Renaissance, and a principle role in the indie-film, Black Sorority Project.
Candice Wilson currently resides in Los Angeles, California where she is continuing to pursue various modeling, acting and songwriting ventures.
