Candice Olson

Candice Olson is a Canadian interior designer and the host of the home makeover show Divine Design with Candice Olson, which airs in the US on the cable channel HGTV and on the W Network in Canada. The show is based in Toronto.

[edit] Education and early career
Candice attended the University of Calgary where she simultaneously worked on her Bachelor of Science degree while travelling the globe playing volleyball for the Canadian National Women’s Volleyball Team. Candice soon headed for Toronto where she attended the school of Interior Design at Ryerson University. Scouted upon graduation, Candice honed her skills for several years in many of Canada’s top interior design firms before establishing her own residential and commercial design practice, Candice Olson Design, in 1994. She is of Scandinavian origin.

Candice is married to a builder Yuri and they have two young children Piper and Becket. Her pregnancies were openly shown and discussed on the show, Divine Design during season one and four.

In the fall of 2002, Divine Design with Candice Olson debuted on Canada’s W Network and quickly established itself as one of the network’s flagship shows. In the fall of 2003, the series made its debut in more than 80 million homes in the U.S. on Home & Garden Television.

Candice has recently launched her own collection of products in the home décor market. The lines include an upholstered furniture line for Norwalk, The Furniture Idea; a line of fabric from Kravet; a lighting line in conjunction with AF Lighting; a line of carpets for Hellenic Rugs; and a wallpaper line for York Wallcoverings.
Candice has also partnered with Revco International to launch a broad case good, occasional, and table line. The pieces will be made of wood and mixed materials. The line will launch in April 2008 at the High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina.
