Candacate

The term Candacate refers to the institution of the Candace or Kandake,[citation needed] pronounced "Kan-dah-kay". The Candace was a queen, queen mother or queen consort of the Kushite Empire.

The most famous women to hold the title of Candace include Amanitore, Amanikatashan, and Amanishakheto. Amanirenas invaded Egypt in the time of Augustus Caesar, but was eventually defeated and surrendered. [1] [2]
