Cancer irroratus Say, 1817 |
Cancer irroratus is a crab of the genus Cancer with nine marginal teeth on the front edge of the carapace beside each eye. They range from Labrador to Florida. They are similar in colour to and overlap in size with the Jonah crab with larger marginal teeth, range more widely, and are more common in some locations. Both species are edible, but because the Jonah crab can reach much larger sizes and has a much larger claw size, the Jonah crab is more intensely fished for.
