Canazei is a comune (municipality) in the province of Trento in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 70 km northeast of Trento. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,829 and an area of 67.3 km².[1]

The municipality of Canazei contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Alba, Penia, Gries and Cianacei. Canazei borders the following municipalities: Selva di Val Gardena, Corvara, Livinallongo del Col di Lana, Campitello di Fassa, Mazzin, Pozza di Fassa, and Rocca Pietore.

Canazei is also a traditional ski resort on the Sella Ronda circuit with 175km of pistes.
