Canal San Bovo is a municipality in the province of Trento in the Italian Region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 90 km north-east of Trento. Canal San Bovo is a typical alpine village, with a population of 1,661 and an area of 125.5 km². From 1401 1918 Canal San Bovo was a territory of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The municipality of Canal San Bovo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Zortea, Prade, Cicona, Gobbera, Caoria, Ronco.

Canal San Bovo borders the following municipalities: Predazzo, Ziano di Fiemme, Siror, Pieve Tesino, Mezzano, Castello Tesino, Imer, Cinte Tesino, Sovramonte (BL), and Lamon (BL).
