Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) is a trade association for the urban transit industry in Canada. It was originally established in 1904 as the "Canadian Street Railway Association". Since that time it has grown to 450 members, including 120 transit systems, 250 manufacturers, suppliers and other businesses, as well as numerous affiliates and government agencies. The CUTA mission is to establish public transit as the primary solution to urban mobility in the achievement of sustainable transportation, and to assist its members in the fulfillment of their mandates.
CUTA's main office is located in Toronto, with a government relations office in Ottawa. The Association's primary activities include two conferences per year, one trade exposition entitled "Trans-Expo", numerous magazines and bulletins, a detailed statistical database, research, training and government advocacy.
