The 8th Canadian Professional Soccer League season began on May 21, 2005 and concluded on October 10, 2005 with newly expansion franchise Oakville Blue Devils claiming their first Rogers Cup victory.

- The resignation of chairman/president Vince Ursini.
- Laval Dynamites return, after taking a year off in 2004.
- Metro Lions relocate to Oakville to play in Bronte Stadium under the name Oakville Blue Devils.
