The Canadian Peace Alliance / L'Alliance canadienne pour la paix (CPA/ACP) is Canada's principal umbrella peace organization with more than 140 member groups representing 4 million Canadians. It was founded in 1985.
The CPA organizes cross-Canada campaigns and actions; arranges political lobbying sessions between member groups and key political leaders in Ottawa; facilitates the development of strategies for the Canadian peace movement; and produces and distributes education and action materials.
The CPA's policy and campaign direction is determined by a bi-annual convention of member groups and by a geographically representative Steering Committee.
