Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee (or CJPAC) is a Canadian political organization.
The Executive Director of CJPAC is Josh Cooper, former federal Canadian Alliance and Conservative candidate in Thornhill. CJPAC is a unique organization which advocates only on behalf of its members, and does not claim to be representative of the entire Jewish community. Because it is not a registered charity (although it is not-for profit), it is able to be directly involved in political action, and actively works with politicians regardless of political affiliation. It was formed soon after Cooper's defeat from the former CIJA-PAC, a similar advocacy organization.
Part of its mandate also involves engaging students in the political process, and it runs programs geared towards youth during the summer months. Programs include mock elections and seminars.
