[edit] Changes to format
- Since last season, instruments are allowed to be played with the competitor's audition.
- Jully Black will join the cast of Canadian Idol as the new correspondent and mentor.
- Last Chance Online Auditions were introduced where within two weeks competitors who failed to make it on their audition or who could not make the audition date were able to audition by posting a two-minute video of themselves performing and upload the video onto the website at idol.ctv.ca

The top 22 will be announced on June 23, 2008. The top 10 finals will start on July 14, 2008. The season finale is expected on September 9, 2008.
