Canadensis, Pennsylvania

Canadensis is located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania in the northeastern part of the state. It is home to Daniels Top-O-The Poconos Resort, the Continental Hot Grill Restaurant, Lenny's Gulf gas station, Camp Canadensis, High Acres Park and one traffic light. This point is known to locals as the "Crossroads", where all businesses in Canadensis are located (Junction of Pennsylvania Route 447 and 390). The town gets its name from the Latin word meaning "hemlock".

Canadensis does not have a census, but estimates tell us the population of Canadensis is approximately 2,500 from the 2005 census.

The town is home to a number of Bed & Breakfast's as well as skiing a short drive away at Alpine Mountain as well as in the Stroudsburg area. The area is more for the honeymooners, except during the winter when skiing is available. The area is also the home to many sleepaway campers from the tri-state area for the summer at Camp Canadensis, which has become famous for being known as the best over night camp in America for 20 years. It is home to many young boys and girls, and the G.B.A is famous at Camp Canadensis.They have some extrodinary nights. There are no actual tourism sites within the village. Canadensis is also home to Daniels Top-O-The Poconos Resort, a family oriented resort with planned activities and theme weekends.
