Canada Firearms Centre(CAFC) is a Canadian government agency administered by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The agency was created in 2003 to oversee the administration of the Firearms Act and the Canadian Firearms Program under the Department of Public Safety. It is headquartered in Miramichi, New Brunswick.
On May 17, 2006, responsibility for the Canadian Firearms Program was transferred from the Department of Public Safety to the RCMP. The head of the agency is its Director General, RCMP Chief Superintendent François Bidal. The DG reports to the Commissioner of the RCMP who reports to the Minister of Public Safety Canada and thus to the Parliament of Canada.
