[edit] Canada's Cup

The Canada's Cup is a sailboat race held periodically on the Great Lakes. It is a match race (i.e., a race between two individual yachts) between two boats from Canada and the United States. The first match was held in 1896, and the cup has crossed the lakes several times.

It was held most recently in October 2007 off Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and sailed in Farr 40 sailboats. The U.S. challenger "Heartbreaker" (Macatawa Bay Yacht Club) defeated the defender "Honour" (Royal Canadian Yacht Club) to take the cup back to Lake Michigan.
