Added Marine Forces Pacific. It is the original command element there. -Gelston

[edit] Commands

Added links for MARFORPAC and SOCPAC, even though they don't have articles. --70.95.43.1 05:19, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

I suppose I could try to get a hold of some released photos from the base PAO to post up here, and sort of expand the article, since I have the distinct displeasure of being stationed here. (Hawaii, go figure.)Gelston 23:19, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Referencing improvements called for

This article currently is labelled with "incorporates text from" an official webpage. As such, the article does not show which material is copied. Copied material should be in quotes (quotation marks or set in block quote formatting), to separate from wikipedia editor wording of consensus views, to separate from other sourced material, and to separate from new Original Research that may creep in as the article is edited over time. (Note above indicates at least one editor has chimed in with personal knowledge that may not be supported by a specific reference.) Hence it may be suitable to mark this article with the "refimprove" and/or "nofootnotes" tag. The latter calls for in-line citations (and even if one footnote is added to the article, it would still be appropriate, as it calls for more footnoting, for the copied text).

This is not an issue of copyright violation, assuming that the source copied from is public domain. It is an issue of proper referencing, including avoiding the appearance of plagiarizing, but for other good referencing reasons as well. There are other perspectives than mine on some of these details. See Talk at WP:REF for other current discussion. doncram (talk) 18:15, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
