Campus Community School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Campus Community School is an elementary and high school located in downtown Dover, Delaware.
[edit] History
The first building for CCS was bought in 1997 with the intention of creating a charter school for students between first and eighth grade. The building rented from Wesley College and as such, students attending CCS have access to Wesley's facilities. The school opened in 1998 and still teaches students, but only for grades 1-7.
[edit] Campus Community High School
In 2002, plans were drawn up to purchase a larger building in order to house a high school. The plans came to fruition when in 2003, CCS leased half of a warehouse from the Playtex Corporation and started construction. The high school took over the education duties of CCS' eighth grade due to overcrowding.
