Camper (company)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Camper is an international shoe company based in Spain. Lorenzo Fluxa founded the company in 1975 after inheriting a shoe factory from his father, Antonio Fluxa, a Spanish shoemaker. Camper operates 52 company-owned stores around North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, as well as distributing to thousands of independently-owned multi-brand retailers. The company motto is "imagination walks."[1][2]
[edit] Recent ventures
Camper has just began expanding its brand into the hospitality sector with a hotel and restaurant in Barcelona, Spain. Casa Camper's aesthetic fits into the company's philosophy of "luxury...in simplicity."[3] Adjacent to the hotel is the Camper FoodBall, a concept restaurant that uses mostly organic and vegetarian ingredients in a simple cafe atmosphere. The interior, however, lacks tables and chairs and opts for a communal stadium-seating floor plan. The Camper restaurant also fits into the company's philosophy of casual urban simplicity but still using quality ingredients (or materials).[4]
