Campaign Against Censorship

The Campaign Against Censorship (CAC) is a Fareham, England-based political pressure group that opposes censorship and promotes freedom of expression in the United Kingdom. The group was formerly named the Defence of Literature and the Arts Society (DLAS) and was founded in 1968 to assist writers and artists. In 1983, the group was relaunched as the Campaign Against Censorship.

Officers of the CAC include Edward Goodman, a lawyer and former Labour Party councillor, and Nigel Meek, who is also the editor and membership secretary of the Libertarian Alliance and the Society for Individual Freedom.
