An Overview of the Daily Schedule

During the day, campers experience all kinds of fun activities, eat lunch, have "Happy Nappy Time" and then go back for more fun activities. At night, when the excitement has died down (after all your exciting day activities), more excitment begins! EP, or Evening Programs, are your "after dinner activities". They can go from Capture the Flag, to TAW Idol. TAW Project Runway to "Gold Rush". There are even dances with neighboring boy camps! After all this excitement, lights out starts with Perry Como singing the Lord's Prayer and ends with soft snores and chriping crickets.

Generations and Legends

The Haynes Family has led this camp for 3 generations. At TAW, Donnie Haynes is a legend. She has now passed away, but is still seen through the camper's eyes, as they go through Homesickness, Wacky Wednesdays, fun times and bad. She wrote the TAW Creed.

The TAW Creed:

I believe in life as a great game.

I believe that I must uphold the colors in good faith, never alibi, but play the game fair and square to win.

I believe in friendships and the joy of service for others.

I believe in the flowers, the sunshine and the clouds, the glory of the sunset and in every beautiful thing.

I believe in the whisper of the leaves, the strength of the trees, the call of the birds, the inspiration of the towering mountains and in every great lesson nature teaches.

I believe in moments of silence and in nights of quiet when a girl can question her soul and find herself.

I believe in love and I believe in faith to the highest.

I believe in the guiding spirit of youth that looks upward and finds the best in life.

I believe in my better self because I believe in God.

Tonawandah helps girls grow as they come back year after year. Many girls consider it their home away from home.It is really and truly a beautiful place.
