Camp Newport

Camp Newport is a Salvation Army camp located on Skeleton Lake in Utterson, Ontario, Canada. The camp is over 40 acres in size and consists of five cabins to house campers. The summer program includes: Swim and Ropes during the afternoon. The Ropes course includes: a zipline, bridges, a swinging log, nitro crossing, cargo net, and bermuda triangle. There is also an Outdoor adventures program involving hiking, archery, and a meal in the outdoors. Water adventures also runs consisting of water sports, canoeing, and swimming. Electives occur once a week, which provide opportunities of sports, crafts, drama, cooking, and music/rhythm. The camp is equipped with canteen, volleyball court, baseball diamond and chapel in the pines. The camp also traditionally holds a Moms and Tots Camp at the beginning of the summer and a Music Camp at the end of the summer. Music Camp utilizes both the camp staff and faculty members who are often mistaken for staff. The staff run the cabins, waterfront, ropes course, and aid in musical programs and in any additional ways required. Music Camp features both an instrumental and vocal guest.

To serve the total personality and health needs of the camper (spiritual, educational, social and recreational) through a creative, healthful experience, in co-operative group living in outdoor settings.
