Camille Barbone

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Camille Barbone was Madonna's first manager. She was the head of Gotham Management. She has over 23 years of entertainment experience, overseeing the releases of many superstar artists such as Grace Jones, Bee Gees, and Gladys Knight during her tenure at labels such as Columbia/Epic, Phonogram/Mercury, and Buddah. Later, as the founder of August Artists Management, she discovered, developed, managed, presented and signed a "new" artist we now know as Madonna. Ms. Barbone has continued to manage and develop new acts such as Clark Brown -- the lead singer of G/Z/R (Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath) -- and Birdbrain (all on TVT Records).

Studios she owned and operated included Gotham Sound and Long View Farms, the recording homes of artists from Buster Poindexter, The Monkees, and Melba Moore to The Rolling Stones, Michael Bolton, and Aerosmith. Ms. Barbone has produced many corporate-sponsored concert events including the Gospel segment of Woodstock '94. Many labels and agencies have engaged Ms. Barbone as a consultant to benefit from her broad experience, leadership, and creativity.
