Camelback Mountain or Big Pocono is a conspicuous mountain on the Pocono Plateau. The Pocono Plateau, known as the Pocono Mountains, is an area of gently rolling low hills. Camelback's distinctive shape, hence it's namesake, and 1,000 ft. prominence above the country side can be seen from miles away.
Camelback Mountain is home to a ski area and Big Pocono State Park. The park lies on the summit of the mountain, where there are hiking trails and picnic tables. The many views from the summit are extensive. On a clear day the Delaware Water Gap, High Point (New Jersey) and the Catskill Mountains in New York State can be seen.
