Cambridge is a village located in Dane and Jefferson Counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 1,100 at the 2000 census.

(43.004089, -89.017201)According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km²). The Koshkonong Creek runs through the center of the village, flowing south to Lake Koshkonong.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,101 people, 470 households, and 303 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,238.5 people per square mile (477.6/km²). There were 483 housing units at an average density of 543.3/sq mi (209.5/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.55% White, 0.09% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.45% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.00% of the population.
There were 470 households out of which 32.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.5% were non-families. 29.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.89.
In the village the population was spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 19.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 91.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.1 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $52,039, and the median income for a family was $57,895. Males had a median income of $37,986 versus $29,018 for females. The per capita income for the village was $22,599. About 0.6% of families and 4.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.4% of those under age 18 and 7.1% of those age 65 or over.

Cambridge Area EMS hosts several annual fund raising events that are open to the public. The Cannonball Run is held in July on the first Saturday and features a 5 and 10k course. A Renaissance Faire also takes place at Lake Ripley Park in May. Rowe Pottery, famous for their salt fired, distinctive gray and blue pottery is located here. There is also the World Pottery Games, a weekend festival all about pottery, celebrated in June.
