Camberwell High School is a government funded, co-educational high school for years 7 to 12 and is located on Prospect Hill Rd in Canterbury, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

[edit] Philosophy and history

The school regularly sends teams to state competitions often taking out the state championship itself. Numerous individuals have won Premiers awards this year as well as in previous years, a group of awards given to the best students in an academic field. The school was briefly held by Melbourne High School during World War II as the Royal Australian Navy was using Melbourne High School as a training base. Famous alumni of Camberwell High School include GTV 9 newsreader Brian Naylor, the Minogue sisters and many notable cultural and business figures.

The school's motto is "Disco Consulere Aliis", which may be translated from Latin as "Learning to be considerate of others".

Four main buildings:

  • A Block: Classrooms, library, administration offices, staffrooms.
  • B Block: Art rooms, VCE centre, multipurpose room, music centre.
  • C Block: Classrooms, computer rooms, staffrooms, science rooms.
  • D Block: Classrooms, computer rooms, drama center, undercroft, ESL centre.
  • Oval Complex: Classrooms, staffrooms portable toilets.
