[edit] Clayton Kratz
As noted at the Drawing board, things that aren't accessible to the public (for example, personal stories and photos) fall under our prohibition against no original research. You can certainly use such information to inspire or guide you in your writings, but you absolutely should not cite it.
A quick Google search showed a number of promising sources, so I encourage you to pursue this: [1], [2], [3], newspaper article, Fretz, Clarence Y. "The Story of Clayton- Kratz." Youth Messenger, Lancaster Mennonite Conference, Lincoln Highway, East Lancaster, Pa. Series of 14 articles (August 1, 1965 to November 7, 1965). (Clayton Kratz in Russian relief work in 1920.), cited at http://www.bethelks.edu/mennonitelife/bibliographies/1969a.pdf.
A couple of suggestions:
- Read Wikipedia:Your first article
- Take a look at Mennonite Central Committee - you might want to post a note on the talk/discussion page of that article, to try to recruit others to help you.
- Write the draft of the article as a subpage in your user space (if that doesn't makes sense after you read the documentation, let me know); that way, it's not subject to being deleted when it's in an early stage because it fails to meet Wikipedia criteria (once an article has been deleted, it's much harder to get it back into Wikipedia, permanently).

- Not sure what the problem is with subpages. You have two, to date:
- The norm, actually, would be a page called User:Callan93/Clayton Kratz (the idea is for the page to have the "name" (so to speak) as it would when it was an article, but to be located within what we call "your user space".
- You might want to move (which, in Wikipedia terminology, means renaming) one of your existing subpages so that it has this name. Or not, it's not a big deal.
- If that doesn't answer your question, please drop me another note. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 22:42, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You are invited!
New York City Meetup
|
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, and have salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes).
Well also make preparations for our exciting Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, a free content photography contest for Columbia University students planned for Friday March 28 (about 2 weeks after our meeting).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.
You're also invited to subscribe to the public Wikimedia New York City mailing list, which is a great way to receive timely updates.
This has been an automated delivery because you were on the invite list. BrownBot (talk) 02:32, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
