[edit] License tagging for Image:Jan perry.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Jan perry.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:PRELIMINARY_LIST_OF_BOTANICAL_SPECIES_GROWN_AT_SOUTH_CENTRAL_(Final_draft).pdf
Thanks for uploading Image:PRELIMINARY_LIST_OF_BOTANICAL_SPECIES_GROWN_AT_SOUTH_CENTRAL_(Final_draft).pdf. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Reverting
Hey G, what up. I don't know if you've figured it out yet or not, but I figured I'd take a moment to explain. You know how when you're looking at the history, you can click "compare selected versions"? Well, once you have two versions up, one will say "Revision as of 02:52, 15 June 2006 (edit)", or what ever date/time it was made, and the other will say the same thing but at a different time, the time of the later reversion. That is a link to that version of the article. If you can find the last good version, just click on it and save it with the appropriate edit summary. Don't worry about that warning that says "You are editing an outdated version of the page!". That's just to scare newbies.
If you think you may be into vandal-fighting, there are also bots you can run, like Vandalbot and others. You may have noticed them in edit histories. If you click on one of them, that is the best way to find out about them and how they work.
Of course, once you've been here a while and become an admin, you get the "rollback" button, which makes the whole thing way easier. It's something to lok forward to. 8)--Rockero 04:20, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
thanks rock, I have fiddled with that feature a lot :). The vandals are trying to sneak in comments also, like that claim that the farmers are illegal, the article this person cited made no such reference.

[edit] SCF
Hey G. The vandal(s) have been messing with the images (putting pictures of Lenin, changing the satellite pic so the farm show up in all gray, etc). After I figured out what happened, I changed them back and had the images deleted. But then they started vandalizing our pages. So I semi-protected yours. Hope you don't mind. PAZ, --Rockero 22:59, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks Rock, I was hoping you would do that. Califman831 00:00, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Environmental Racism?
I was interested in this phrase you used on the South Central Farm page. What is that? Are you refering to the fact that areas which are industrialized are also areas that have minority populations? That seems sort of backwards and missing the real point of economic racism. Its that areas that are industrialized are areas that have low property value, and therfore where there is housing in industrialized area its cheap housing which attracts impoverished groups, which minorities are make up a disproportionate number of because a) they have a large contingent of new immigrants--who tend to be poor for obvious reasons (they are starting from scratch) and b) historical racists policies created self-perpetuating poverty in the case of non-immigrant minorities (which is why affirmative action is needed). The idea of "environmental racism" seems to miss that and get it sort of backwards. Doesn't help the real plight of impoverished minorities if you slap the word "racism" on every little aspect of their lives. It hurts the cause by giving people who are suspect of all "liberal" ideas easy targets to attack. Brentt 02:34, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
