Talk:California Redemption

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is no conflict of interest of whatever it is someone, most likely with a beef with the band, decided to start slagging them. They're as valid and as an important part of the Nardcore and Hardcore scenes, as is evident by their presence on Wikipedia.

I have a feeling this is personal.Maluka 19:06, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

there's nothing personal involved, so you may continue to assume good faith. i tagged the article with "conflict of interest" for the simple reason that it was created by User:Mikkei, while the band's guitarist (also the only member to have an individual WP article) is called, uh, Mikkei. see WP:AUTO. that is what "conflict of interest" means. also note that since anyone can edit Wikipedia, "presence on Wikipedia" is not evidence of anything, much less Wikipedia notability (which would be a circular argument). tomasz. 19:32, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

I think some people go a little overboard when policing wikipedia. I agree that CaRe is unquestionably an notable part of Nardcore, and Hardcore in general. Hope no one else trys to mark up this page. xbuzzx108 19:25, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

what you need is verifiable third-party sources that also agree they are unquestionably part of this scene, then you're sorted. tomasz. 19:32, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Just how does one go about getting "third party sources"? There contributions to music are current. You're being way too picky. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maluka (talkcontribs) 19:48, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

review the link i provided you as to what sources are good. something like a newspaper or magazine article would be a grand start. their contributions to music may be current, but that doesn't exclude them from meeting the guidelines at WP:BAND. also, there's no point being annoyed with me or calling me "picky", those are just the site policies. tomasz. 19:52, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
