[edit] Plot
Calvin Tower (born Calvin Toren) owns the Manhattan Restaurant of the Mind, a bookstore on 2nd and 53rd in New York City. This is the bookstore where Jake Chambers buys "Charlie the Choo-Choo" and "Riddle-De-Dum", which both help the Ka-Tet during their confrontation with Blaine the Mono in DT3 and 4. The Toren family (Dutch for "Tower") were the original owners of the lot on 2nd and 46th in which the Rose grows. In 1977, a reluctant Tower sells the lot to the "Tet Corporation", represented by Roland and Eddie. In 1981, Calvin and his (only) friend Aaron Deepneau save Father Donald Callahan's life from the Hitler Brothers, who were hired by the low men to kill him. Calvin Tower dies of a heart attack in 1990.
