Calvin Griffith Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Calvin Griffith Park was a stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was primarily used for baseball, and served as the home field of several Charlotte arena minor league baseball teams, including the Charlotte Knights and Charlotte Orioles. The park opened in 1940 and held 3,200 people. It was eventually replaced by Knights Stadium. After a renovation of the park in 1976, it was renamed Jim Crockett, Sr. Memorial Park. It burned down on March 16, 1985. Investigators determined the fire was set by juveniles.
