Calpack
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Calpack, Calpac, Kalpac or Qalpaq (Turkish: kalpak [1]) is a high-crowned cap (usually made of felt or sheepskin) worn by men in Turkey, Iran, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.
"Kalpak" is also a component of the ethnic name "Kara-Kalpak" (literally "a black calpack" in Turkic), known from the history of the medieval Eastern Europe, and from the modern Karakalpak autonomous republic in the western Syr Darya - Amu Darya interfluve in Uzbekistan, north of the ancient Balkh.
