Calliostoma megaloprepes is a medium-sized sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc. Some authors have considered this genus to be in the family Calliostomatidae, other malacologists would place it simply in the family Trochidae.

This species is endemic to Australia. It is found around Macquarie Island.

This top snail lives at depths of between 150 and 220 m.
[edit] Shell description
The shell has a sculpture of distant narrow weak spiral cords, five or six on the penultimate whorl, and subobsolete on the base, except for two or three moderately strong cords bordering a crescentic callus-filled umbilical area. The uppermost cords on the early spire whorls bear weak granules, but on the subsequent whorls, the cords are smooth.
The external shell coloration is a light reddish-brown, the spiral cords are slightly darker.
The shell height is up to 38 mm, and the width is up to 41 mm.
