Calling Down the Sky (2004) is an album by the American ambient musician Robert Rich. The material on this album was recorded live in Denver, Colorado on July 26, 2003. It was a small and personal concert, performed to an audience of 26.
The inspiration for this performance came from Rich’s experiences while touring the United States during the summer of 2003. During this tour, Rich encountered a variety of severe weather ranging from tornadoes to floods to desert wind storms. A thunder storm brewed outside during this concert. The music on this album is slow and textural with ominous overtones.
