Callaway High School is a high school in Jackson, Mississippi (USA). The current principal of Callaway High School is Clinton Johnson.[1]

Built in 1966 on approximately ten acres in North Jackson, Callaway was named after former educator and community activist Robert Callaway. Students in grades nine through twelve are enrolled.

The mascot of Callaway is the Charger.[2].

There were a total of 971 students enrolled in Callaway High during the 2006-2007 school year. The gender makeup of the district was 51% female and 49% male. The racial makeup of the school was 100.00% African American.[3]

Callaway High School was named after Robert M. Callaway, a former educator. Callaway High School was built in 1966 and currently enrolls students in grades nine through twelve.

Callaway High School is located at 601 Beasley Road, Jackson, Mississippi. The property is housed on approximately ten-acres in north Jackson. The present enrollment is 971 students, with 70 additional personnel such as teachers, counselors, and administrators.

The facility is divided into three wings identified as A/B Wing (upstairs and down) and the C Wing consisting of 73 classrooms. A separate field house is located between the practice baseball and football fields.

Callaway High School utilizes an A/B block schedule that allows the students to take eight classes all year long. In addition to classroom instruction, students enrolled in State-tested classes are encouraged to participate in the after school tutorials offered for each course. Computer-aided individual independent study and review is available to the students in various computer labs and the school library.
