Callander, Ontario

The Municipality of Callander (formerly the Township of North Himsworth) is a township in central Ontario, Canada located at the southeast end of Lake Nipissing in the District of Parry Sound. The municipality was named for the main community of Callander, located on Callander Bay and a southern suburb of North Bay.

According to the Canada 2006 Census:

- Lighthouse Beach is a small community of approximately 100 people, located on the shore of Lake Nipissing in Ontario, Canada. The name is taken from the lighthouse, which was formally situated on the beach roughly twenty feet from shore.It ironically was destroyed in a powerful storm.

There are many activities one can enjoy in this small town. With two main beaches, you can enjoy boating, swimming, fishing and children can enjoy the playground recently built at the beach on the north side of Main street. There are also two tennis courts behind the Community Centre, which also offers a rink for ice skating in the winter. Also, if you enjoy biking and/or rollerblading, there is the Kate Pace Way which is a paved trail from Callander to North Bay, allowing a peaceful ride among all the wildlife.

Prominent people who live or have lived in Callander include:
- Bill Barber, former NHL player from the Philadelphia Flyers; inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
- Dionne Quintuplets
- Alistair Graham Bateman former M.V.P. of a few games from his young hockey career, of which he play for the Astorville Vipers.
