California Trail Junior High School

California Trail is one of the eight junior high schools in Olathe, Kansas. The school was opened in August of 1996 and sits near the border of Olathe, Kansas and Overland Park, Kansas. Their graduates go to Olathe East High School along with Pioneer Trail Junior High and Frontier Trail Junior High graduates. Grades go from 7th to 9th.

The school's mascot is the bulldog and colors are black and gold.Yah Cha

The feeder elementary schools are Bentwood, Pleasant Ridge, Regency Place, and Heatherstone.

The school's Science Olympiad program which has won regionals nine out of 10 years. In April 2006, they won state and went to Nationals for the third year in a row.In 2006, The California Trail Freshmen Bulldog Basketball team won their city tournament for the first time after a perfect season winning every game. The combined eighth and ninth grade orchestra of California Trial and Pioneer Trail was the first in Olathe to make KMEA, and the first to perform on PBS (February 2006).

Also having a diverse student body, it's students are also divided into teams for example the sevies are on one of these three teams (7-1, 7-2, 7-3). The principal's name is Larry Katzif, along with the two assistant principals Mrs. Jennifer Stoskopf and Mrs. Paige May.
