[edit] Plot
Hank falls into a spiral of despair when his father Al (Mark Margolis) dies. Holing up with a hooker named Trixie (Judy Greer) to numb his pain, Hank recalls his estranged relationship with his father. In a series of flashbacks, we see Al's last visit with Hank.
Later in the show, Hank rekindles his relationship with Karen and tells her he loves her and does not expect her to say it back to him.
[edit] Cultural references
- Hank refers to the hooker as "a street-walking cheetah". It is a reference to The Stooges' song Search and Destroy.
- When Hank introduces Amber to his father, he asks "What's the story, morning glory?". (What's the Story) Morning Glory? is the second album by the English rock band Oasis.
- "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" (title of the fictional movie based on Hank's book) is a song by Queen.
[edit] Music
- "Mohammed's Radio" by Warren Zevon
- "Between The Lines" by Bonobo Feat. Bajka
- "In Ancient Rome" by Perry Keyes
