Caledor (Phoenix King)

Caledor the Conqueror is a fictional character from the Warhammer Fantasy setting. He is one of the Phoenix Kings of the High Elves described as a good king that held together a nation split in half.

All dates given are based on the Sigmarite Calendar which is dated from the foundation of the Empire of the humans of the "Old World".

c. -2750 - With the coronation of Caledor, Malekith flees to Nagarythe. Civil war ensues.

c. -2740 - Renegade Wizard Princes from Saphery flee to Nagarythe. A heretic priest of Vaul, Hotek, steals Vaul's Hammer and takes it to Nagarythe.

c. - Malekith becomes sealed in his black armour and names himself the Witch King. The war increases.

c. -2725 - The Witch King is defeated at the Battle of Maledor. The Witch King decides to show his master plan.

c. -2724 - The Witch King interferes with the Vortex holding Ulthuan above the sea and sinks the northern half of the island. He then raises the Black Arks and the newly named Dark Elves depart to the Northwest. They find a land and call it Naggaroth after their homeland of Nagarythe. The Elves are powerless to stop them. Tiranoc is lost.

c. -2631 - Dark Elves resume their war against Ulthuan. Caledor reorganises his armies and starts building the Gateway Fortresses of the north.

c. -2600 - Griffon Gate, the unconquered fortress, is finally built. It is the first of a set designed to protect against Dark Elf raids.

c. -2426 - The Dark Elf Black Ark Palace of Joyous Oblivion is sunk by the dragon ship Indraugnir with a magically forged Starblade ram. This is the first sinking of a Black Ark.

c. -2220 - The Dark Elves are finally driven off Ulthuan.

c. -2218 - Caledor orders an expedition to the Blighted Isle.

c. -2198 - Blighted Isle taken. Caledor does not draw the Sword of Khaine, even though it would give him enough power to destroy the Witch King. On the journey back, Caledor's ship Indraugnir is separated from the fleet and is assaulted by Dark Elf raiders. Caledor throws himself over the edge rather than be captured.
