CalSTRS

The California State Teachers' Retirement System, known as CalSTRS, administers retirement, disability and survivor benefits for California's 813,000 public school educators and their families. CalSTR's assets are $179.6 billion as of October 31, 2007 [1], making it the largest U.S. teachers' retirement fund, and second largest U.S. public pension fund (second only to CalPERS).
