[edit] Welcome by Doktor Who

Hello, i have noticed that you are making several edits at Cluster (band), Neu! and related articles. I am immensely appreciating and enjoying your efforts, Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have regarding policies, article formatting and so on.--Doktor Who 21:32, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

REPLY: Thank you for your kind words. Thankfully formatting on Wikipedia is extremely well documented. Where I've made mistrakes I've been able to find the info I need to clean them up or else I've copied from others. So far (I think) so good. I've also tackled Kluster, which I separated from Cluster due to the fact that it really was Conrad Schnitzler in charge. In a 1999 interview he went so far as to say "I am Kluster". I've also done pages for Earthstar (band) and Eruption (band) and expanded the Harmonia (band) page, as well as doing pages for as many of the albums by each that I have access to.

Oh, and BTW, I'm a huge fan of the Doctor Who TV series, so it's an interesting nick you've chosen. Caitlynmaire 16:55, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] German progressive rock

you are doing a great work in the field of Krautrock bands, thank you. Please contact me whenever you need any kind of help. I hope in a near future you may help to rewrite the article krautrock (and kosmische musik]]). <°-°>--Doktor Who 09:33, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

You havent replied to any of my former messages, anw, with regard to ambient music, do you think we can delete any reference to "new wave bands" playing/recording instrumentals related to ambient?Doktor Who 16:41, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

REPLY: Sorry about the delay in replying. I'm still just getting the hang of things. I looked at the Krautrock/Kosmische pages and I agree they are an unholy mess. Lots of good info but better citations and referencing are needed as well as a general cleanup. It's a huge task, though, and I'm not sure I feel 100% qualified to take it on just yet. If you are taking it on and want my help please let me know what you'd like me to do.

Re; Ambient music: Yes, I think new age bands are inappropriate. I also question the inclusion of Pink Floyd and Gong. I don't think "Meddle" is even vaguely ambient but I've been reticent about removing other people's work. I'd hate to get into an argument over definitions. Suggestions? [edit] Conny Plank

Hi. I noticed your edit here. Per WP:MOSFLAG such use of flags in infoboxes is deprecated; if you disagree, you might want to write a short list of the reasons why you think "Flag of Germany Germany" is superior to "Germany" in an encyclopedia. Best wishes, --John (talk) 22:22, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

And incidentally, the flag of Germany as of 3 May 1940 when Conny Plank was born, wasn't the flag you inserted, but, as I'm sure you know, the Nazi one. I don't think adding that one to the article would look good! --John (talk) 23:32, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
It is common practice to place the flag currently in use. My father's last passport said he was born in Ukraine. Ukraine wasn't a country when he was born and the city he came from was in Czechoslovakia. Look, I'm not going to make an issue of the flag thing but I still think it improves WikiPedia and is anything but "cruft" as you describe it. Caitlynmaire 02:13, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cluster/Moebius/Roedelius entries

I've deleted all the personal attacks. Sorry, this is my talk page and if someone can't be civil they can't post here. I WELCOME any factual corrections or additions to any article I contribute to. I don't "own" any articles and WikiPedia is very much a collaborative effort. I certainly am human and I make errors. However, any additions should be properly cited using a proper citation template (see: WP:CITET), something I learned the hard way. WikiPedia doesn't allow "original research" (see WP:OR) so I won't leave it on the pages without citation. I am currently gradually working to bring the Cluster article up to GA (Good Article) standards and I hope to do the same with some of the album articles as well. Please help that effort by following WikiPedia guidelines and make sure that anything you add or change is verifiable. Caitlynmaire (talk) 20:36, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

P.S.: Any defacement of articles or tampering with my writing on my own user page will be reported to the appropriate people at WikiPedia. IP addresses are recorded. Caitlynmaire (talk) 20:17, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
