Complex vandalism & disruptive editing report
Jagz (talk • contribs • count • logs • page moves • block log • email)
This report is a detailed list of a disruption and tendentious editing by User:Jagz. They have disrupted dysgenics and race and intelligence related articles from November 2007 to present.
Please note this page has been carefully written to abide by the full policy of assume good faith and is written with the final paragraph in mind
[The assume good faith guideline] does not require that editors continue to assume good faith in the presence of evidence to the contrary. Actions inconsistent with good faith include repeated vandalism, confirmed malicious sockpuppetry, and lying. Assuming good faith also does not mean that no action by editors should be criticized, but instead that criticism should not be attributed to malice unless there is specific evidence of malice.

[edit] Summary
Jagz has pushed fringe ideas about race and intelligence since at least November 2007.
[edit] Disclosure
I have warned Jagz for a) asking the other parent and general disruption b) failing to assume good faith and c) for making personal attacks. I have no content issue with Jagz. I have never edited the articles he is in dispute on. My only interactions with this user have been when his behaviour has drawn my attention to him.
This issue was brought to User:MastCell's attention in late April 2008. MastCell reviewed the final warning that I issued to Jagz and considered it appropriate. This report shows that Jagz had been cautioned and advised to stop the behaviour that is incompatible with site policy and civility requirements months before I warned Jagz at WP:FTN and subsequently formally warned him for AGF twice (to the limit of AGF templates) and then for personal attacks (at level 4 proceeding from the level 3 AGF warning and taking account of the long term and persistent nature of the attacks on User:Slurbenstein)
[edit] Policy violations
I have made a couple of posts to MastCell detailing the recent occurrences of the issues with Jagz [1]] and [[2]]. Prior to this Slrubenstein brought comments he considered to be anti-semetic to MastCell as well[3].
The locus of Jagz's behavioural problem is Talk:Race and intelligence but it was also very evident at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dysgenics (people) and at Talk:Dysgenics. He has persisted in harassing Alun, Ramdrake and Slrubenstein on these pages & on their talk pages. Even after warnings and blocks.
Below is an incomplete list of Jagz's trolling. It is provided not show every instance but show the extent of time that this problem has persisted for.

- The same at Talk:Intelligence quotient
- April 2008: [12]
- Demand editors work at other articles[13]

- Failing to AGF
[edit] Attempting to "game the system"
After an RfC was held at Talk:Race and intelligence Jagz who seems to have disagreed with the consensus that emerged from that process and attempted to use WP:FTN to ask the other parent (see here).
Immediately after opening this FTN thread Jagz closed the RfC on the Rce and intelligence talk page saying "I think we have had enough replies, removed RfC templates'
Only weeks later Jagz opened another RfC (see here

Taken from the recently closed Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Strider12
1) The purpose of Wikipedia is to create a high-quality, free-content encyclopedia in an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect among contributors. Use of the site for other purposes, such as advocacy or propaganda, furtherance of outside conflicts, publishing or promoting original research, and political or ideological struggle, is prohibited.
- Purpose of Wikipedia
2) Wikipedia users are expected to behave reasonably, calmly, and courteously in their interactions with other users; to approach even difficult situations in a dignified fashion and with a constructive and collaborative outlook; and to avoid acting in a manner that brings the project into disrepute. Unseemly conduct, such as personal attacks, incivility, assumptions of bad faith, trolling, harassment, disruptive point-making, and gaming the system, is prohibited.
- Decorum
3) Wikipedia works by building consensus. This is done through the use of polite discussion—involving the wider community, if necessary—and dispute resolution, rather than through disruptive editing. Editors are each responsible for noticing when a debate is escalating into an edit war, and for helping the debate move to better approaches by discussing their differences rationally. Edit-warring, whether by reversion or otherwise, is prohibited; this is so even when the disputed content is clearly problematic, with only a few exceptions. Revert rules should not be construed as an entitlement or inalienable right to revert, nor do they endorse reverts as an editing technique.

[edit] Warnings
A full series of template warnings was issued by myself to Jagz for assumptions of bad faith, personal attacks (both in regard to other users) and tendentious editing (on Talk:Race and intelligence).[36][37][38]
Prior warnings by Raymond Arritt [39][40]
Subsequently Dreadstar warned Jagz again.[41]

[edit] Conclusion
Jagz has disrupted AfDs, articles, article talk pages and user talk pages in relation to subjects of Race and intelligence and dysgenics. This problem has been prolonged and protracted beginning in at least November 2007.
Jagz was blocked on May 14th (for edit warring) and May 21st (for harassment and personal attacks)[42]. After the second block he "retired from wikipedia" - placing the template {{retired}} on his user pages on May 21st 2008[43]. However, Jagz has made over 60 edits (on 9 of the twelve days between may 21st and June 2nd) all related to the Race and intelligence subject and his issues with other editors on that page.
There is a latin phrase: Nemo contra factum suum venire potest meaning: "No man can contradict his own deed" - Jagz's comments to the effect that he has not trolled Talk:Race and intelligence and [{talk:Dysgenics]] fails this test.
